Effect of stimulation frequency on hippocampal electric field induced by deep-brain magnetic stimulation

Deep-brain Magnetic Stimulation (DMS) is a noninvasive brain modulation method that improves hippocampal neural activity. The frequency of DMS has significant effect on the induced electric field. In this paper, we investigate relationship between stimulation and DMS-induced sensitivity distribution uniformity field are calculated to quantify relationship. results show frequency-dependent property. in high band lower than low band, which corresponds low-pass filtering property neuron membrane. highest range 30–40 Hz. by single coil also reaches Hz, while multiple-coil increases with increasing frequency. positively correlated quantity size coils, negatively spacing coils. This study great help selection frequencies design
